News – Yass FM now has a local news to compliment the regional news that we broadcast. The local news is broadcast daily at approx 8.30am and 5.30 pm.

On the 29th Dec 2011, Andrew Dodds the presenter for the Alternative Zone at Yass FM, had the priviledge to interview up and coming artist Leanne Tennant, who was down in the area visiting her family.
“It was a great experience, my first real interview and Leanne was great to talk to” Andrew said. “Hopefully I will be able to arrange a lot more, as this is what helps bring listeners to Yass FM.”

Another first wil be that this interview will be made available as a podcast so people from around the world can listen. So to listen to the interview

CLASSIC YASS . . . a Celebration of Community

CLASSIC YASS is a event put together by three local Yass Valley groups – the Yass Antique Motor Club, YASSarts and the Yass Red Cross. In 2010 the Rotary Club of Yass came on board by staging the inaugural Rotary Billy Cart Derby which basically put the icing on the cake! Thousands attended last year’s event and there truly was something for everyone.

Other highlights of the weekend include:
The Rotary Club of Yass ‘Farmers Market’ – 5th November
‘Balloon Aloft’ balloon rides – 5th November
‘Wine, Roses and All That Jazz’ wineries promotion – 5th and 6th November

So, as you can see, the 5th & 6th of November is definitely the weekend to head to the Yass Valley!

Yass FM has opened its presenter training doors again. So if you have ever thought I would love to be a radio presenter, maybe you always thought I would love to be that pirate DJ or maybe you want to enter the world of radio professionally. Well now is your chance to do this.

New sessions for 2012 will shortly be announced. and will be held at the
